Hyungjoo Kim's paintings redefined her artistic career as an artistic mother. The time spent nurturing her new-born son was important. Her art practice blossomed throughout this important period in her life, in particular, her study of human postures. This series was painted on a calendar book in print, a rarity in modern times. In the past, Korean businesses would distribute calendars as a promotional device during holiday seasons. The number of calenders people collected reflected just how socially important and relevant they were.
